). Of the highest rarity, apparently the second and by far the finest known example. A beautiful coin with a lovely dark patina and a very interesting reverse. Good very fine.
This very interesting reverse type celebrates Constantine's victory against Maxentius in the Battle of the Milvian Bridge on 28 October 312. We can date the issue to late 312 or early 313 as the exceptional reverse legend refers to three Augusti, namely Constantine I, Licinius I, and Maximinus II. Maximinus had allied with Maxentius following Licinius' engagement to Constantine's daughter Constantia in 311-312, but open hostilities only broke out between Licinius and Maximinus in early 313, leading to the latter's quick downfall
